What to Look for in Restaurant Management Training

The food industry is growing fast, and opportunities for restaurant managers are springing up all over. In order to jump into this exciting career environment, however, training in Hospitality and Restaurant Management is necessary. An education in this field typically includes training in a variety of skills so that students can graduate and apply for the restaurant environment they love. In  Hospitality and Restaurant Management training, internships and externships are vital for helping to prepare students to manage their own restaurant. They can give students a unique opportunity to get to know the field they are studying before they graduate. Internships/externships can also provide great connections for students to use after they graduate.

Many local restaurants and restaurant chains will take on interns during the student’s hospitality and Restaurant Management training. Typically, students can expect to perform work in their intern/externships that will directly apply to their future careers. Responsibilities might include tasks related to restaurant operations, housekeeping, customer service, and cooking.

At California Culinary Academy, all students have the opportunity to work in a nine-week externship. Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality and Restaurant Management training offers students the opportunity to work under the direction of a professional in the hospitality field at an Academy approved establishment, or on campus. Students may be able to choose from hotels, resorts, fine restaurants, or even a cruise ship. California Culinary Academy maintains relationships with establishments throughout the country so its students can choose a facility that suits their personal goals.

Other learning opportunities at California Culinary Academy include Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts training, and Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking training.
